Lyric videos are a way to provide imagery to a song using text, and it can be a means to further emphasize certain song lyrics that might otherwise have been missed. For my lyric video, I chose the song “Fool” by Djo whose psychedelic melody and thrilling beat always led my mind to imagine the narrative that is told.
Moodboard
For the color palette, I wanted to lean towards colors that feel dream-like and magical while also having a psychedelic-feel reminiscent of the song. I wanted the imagery I created to feel like how I felt as a listener, so I chose shades of purple and blue to evoke a nighttime and disco feel.
Sketches
I began sketching starting out with writing down the lyrics from the portion of the song I wanted to do. From there, I could figure out which words I wanted to emphasize, and I began to visualize the movement between each frame. To help guide this process, I also brainstormed words to correspond with the imagery.
